Before you ask, no. I don't want to use journals as a platform to vent anymore. It's stupid and annoying and it makes people feel that I'm irritating and childish and whiny, even if its not deliberate.

Anyway, its time to talk about yaoi and yuri.

As you all know, yaoi/yuri is a genre of (Japanese) gay/lesbian porn, usually portrayed in mangas.

But do you know that there are people who despise real life homosexual couples, but adore yaoi/yuri?

Hypocritical eh?

This is an example A Happily Ever After... by TheLadyJ (you'd have to click on it and read the description to fully understand the situation)
I'm sure there are a LOT more examples from our miserable hypocrites. It ain't really hard to find some comments lyin around.

Anyway, time for my views.

I know somehow that I don't really like yaoi/yuri even though I 100% support homosexuality(I mean c'mon, does true love require man and woman?), but I can't explain why.

Until this really kind lady :iconpinkbluebibliofreak:'s works led me to another person's work Gay by gossywings , and from there I found what I really felt about yaoi/yuri.

"I don't support Yaoi, I think it fetishizes gay men and gay relationships. It objectifies gay men to serve other people's fantasies, mainly heterosexual females."

So...

With that being said, before you protest, I just wanna say that I generally don't appreciate stories that
1. don't have a good plot
2. very artificial, underdeveloped, gary/mary sue like personalities
3. underdeveloped relationships(to the eyes of the reader), especially romance wise(kinda like fanshipping after seeing 2 seconds of them looking at each other or something)

So no, I'm not much of a heterosexual genre supporter or homosexual genre hater either, unless all these points don't exist in the plot. In other words, if the story is perfect, characters are very developed, personalities are very real, then I'll sure as hell appreciate the particular story that contains homosexual genre(shojo ai/shonen ai). [Unfortunately I've seen enough underdeveloped yaoi/yuri to even want to read anymore. Kinda like me not ever wanting to watch Sailor Moon ripoffs cus its the same underdeveloped plot and overly romantic with no character development, cept that it has no sex scenes, which makes it less unbearable and traumatizing.]

Problem is, I'm totally unable to appreciate yaoi/yuri due to the fact that most of them are just sex scenes, and I pretty much feel uncomfortable being involved as an audience(a lot of yaoi/yuri I've seen have the 3 points in them too). Yaoi/yuri are just fetishes, and different people have different fetishes.

Of course, I can't generalise the fangirls/fanboys. Some fangirls do irritate me and like to throw that kinda stuff all over my eyes, but I have a yaoi fangirl as a friend and she's simply just too amazing.
Which reminds me!

Another reason why... sad to say, yaoi... makes me facepalm on the desk. Makes me barf, makes me feel pretty much disgusted. I know I shouldn't let fangirl's opinions affect me, but its been all over the internet, long enough for me to... what the fuck.

Conclusion? I don't like yaoi/yuri, but mainly due to the factors that make it... unlikable for me.
Again this is my own opinion. Everyone has their own opinions and I respect theirs. Just no bashing/conflict. I don't like that.

Sorry if you had to read again to understand lol

before I end this off, I just wanna say to myself "Just one more year Ted.... One more year... before these gender stuff tone down by a million fold... one more year.........."
